Day 2

So today was much more than a “Relax” day. I woke up early to workout to a beautiful oceanic view, a kaleidscopic sunrise, and a friendly monkey! My first conversation  with two of our road managers from Tanzania, Jackson and Godfrey, was a great cultural exchange. We talked about culture and religion. Then, we had “orientation,” there were poems we read, and it was an intellectual overload! We had a privilege conversation, conversations about international social issues that parallel domestic issues. I also got my hair braided by Tanzanian women today, which was much cheaper than back at home. I’ve learned so much and I’m slowly but surely preparing for the rest of this trip.
